Report from the third project coordinators meeting Gysinge Sweden - June 17-20, 2010

The third project coordinators meeting was held in Sweden at PROs Folk high school in Gysinge - the Swedish partner - June 17-20, 2010. This meeting was the last meeting (of 3) during the project period which started 2008-08-01 and ended 2010-07-31. 16 participants including coordinators and students from Poland and Latvia attended the meeting

Thursday 17 June was the day of arrival, presentation of Gysinge, the PRO Folk high school and the meeting agenda.

Friday 18 June started with a lecture about the folk high school educational system. Then the group went by bus to the city of Sandviken and to the Valhalla building, run by PRO (senior movement) in Sandviken for information by its chair person on their organization and activities. The municipality of Sandviken hosted a lunch meeting with information about the municipality, represented by Director Ann-Katrin Sundelius and Head of information Ingrid Palm.

Sight-seeing in Sandviken was followed by a visit to Högbo bruk and a lecture on the history of iron and steel production. Sandviken and Högbo is in the center of a geographical area where historically iron and later on also steel production have been an important part of employment, in Sweden this area is called "The Iron country".

A visit to ABF - Workers' Educational Association of Sweden (Sweden's largest adult education association) - Sandviken branch, where the Swedish project groups had learned computer practice and English followed by lectures about adult education in Sweden and senior organizational structures and living conditions for seniors in Sweden. In the computer class room at ABF in Sandviken.

Back in Gysinge the group met the troubadour Rolf Lundén who introduced some famous Swedish traditional folk songs. The day ended with a photo presentation from the coordinators meeting in Latvia 2009.

Saturday 19 June the partner coordinators met to discuss the final of the project including the final report, the final evaluation, how to evaluate the project website and forms of multimedia presentations of project activities and the catalogue of good practices and ideas for using ICT as a tool to activate seniors. The other participants had computer practices followed by an introduction of the National park of Färnebofjärden (the National park is situated very close to the folk high school).

A farewell dinner in the evening with invited guests including Municipal commissioner Monica Jacobsson and Head of information Ingrid Palm (Municipal of Sandviken) ended the programme.

After the dinner the project group joined a Swedish dance leader group at the folk high school. Together they practiced international senior dancing as well as 'sitting dance'.

Sunday 20 June was time of departure with bus to Uppsala and Stockholm.

Administration issues

What was agreed in relation to:

1.good practices and ideas for using ICT as a tool to activate seniors 2.the multimedia (e.g. Power Point) presentation summarizing all project activities 3.the project website 4.final report (part "A")

to be done by each partner separately according to the agreements made during the meeting

above will be done as soon as possible - till 31.07.10 the latest
